Stellar Programming
Derek was the Director of Programming for the Oscar®-qualifying HSDFF for two years and the shorts programmer for three years. In 2018, Derek brought Oscar®-nominated director Brett Morgen to the festival and also programmed Free Solo and Period End of Sentence, both films went on to win Oscars® for Best Documentary Feature Film and Short Film in the 2019 Academy Awards®.
