Lydia Brayshaw

LYDIA BRAYSHAW actress in a black dress

ACTRESS/BALLERINA/DESIGNER/FILMMAKER

After receiving a scholarship at the young age of 11, Lydia Brayshaw left home in rural Devon to train at The Royal Ballet Lower School in London, working alongside The Royal Ballet and Birmingham Royal Ballet during her time as a student. She graduated from Elmhurst Ballet School with a Level 6 Diploma, in Professional Dance and Royal Central School of Speech and Drama with a Diploma in Acting in 2021 and recently graduated from MetFilm School at Ealing Studios in 2023.    Lydia has performed in productions such as ‘The Nutcracker’ (The Royal Opera House, Birmingham Repertory Theatre), ‘Synergy’ (Elmhurst Ballet Company, Saddlers Wells) and annual summer performances with The Royal Ballet Lower School (Opera Holland Park, Studio Linbury at The Royal Opera House).

Moving from stage to screen, she has performed lead roles in several short films and most recently starred in the award-winning short film “Twenty”,  for which she won Best Actress from the Jim Thorpe Independent Film Festival and the Blue Whisky Independent Film Festival.  The film also won the Audience Award at the Santa Fe International Film Festival and Best Film at the Princeton Film Festival.

Alongside her college education, she started an ethical fashion company Lydiab.co in January 2020, which she continues to develop and design the products for. Through the brand, Lydia has raised funds for invaluable causes, including over $2300 for the animals affected by the Australian bushfires. Other art commissions include designing and decorating a pair of pointe shoes in honour of the Queens 90th birthday celebrations, which she presented to HRH King Charles.
